A-foraging we will go!

Stinging nettles come by their name honestly.
You really have to want to benefit from their nutritional value to harvest these babies. What are they protecti20160920_094121.jpgng themselves from anyway, with all those prickly, itchy and yes, stinging little hairs?
The benefits are worth the short-term (albeit REALLY uncomfortable) risks. And you can rest assured that once they’re bundled, dried, and hanging prettily they have lost their power to harm you.
Then you can sit back, enjoy a cup of stinging nettle tea, and know that you’re reaping its nutritional and antioxidant benefits. Eating it is another option, but I haven’t worked up the courage for that…yet.
